I ran across a blog post today entitled "My Favorite Rolls". It had a photo of homemade crescent rolls, and went on to discuss the recipe.
These are my favorite rolls.
My niece, Piper, in these photos makes me exclaim, "Holy Cuteness!" And just when you thought her good looks couldn't be beat, she is the sweetest, most cuddly, happy baby you've met. We visited my sister and her family this weekend, and came home with these photos, among others. These are the days when double chins and cankles are seriously adorable.
We were visiting to help my sister and her husband scrape the inches of construction dust out of their home, and move into some of the areas that were completed. Benjamin did a great job keeping Piper entertained at different points during the weekend. But when Piper had decided Benjamin's brand of humor was getting to be a bit much, this is what we saw (sorry for the graininess and under-exposure, but it wasn't very bright on this side of the room and I refused to use my harsh flash).
Sometimes my sister would go pick Piper up at that point, and sometimes I would. When you pick up a crying baby, and she instantly melts into smiles, and cuddles her face into your neck, I don't think there's a better feeling in the world. Maybe it's because the resonance of my voice is so similar to my sister's, or maybe Piper actually remembers me from the time I spent with her at Christmas, but this was the result I'd get from her each time. It turns my heart into a puddle and I just want to cuddle with her forever.
