Day Shift

34

Some people work the day shift. Others work the night shift.  Parents of newborns work the day shift AND the night shift.  If you're a nursing mom, you don't get to shove the night shift off on someone else too often.  That's okay in my book, because our night shifts are normally pretty manageable, and how sweet is a baby nursing in your arms?!

This dress is a shift too.  I don't iron my clothes, sorry.  This is a linen-silk blend - SUPER soft and comfy, but also super wrinkly.  Oh well.

Today we're packing for a family camping trip.  The most important part of packing?  Being sure the outfit you're wearing is not one you need to pack.  Since both my blouse (rayon) and dress (linen/silk) have special-needs washing requirements, they don't go camping.

I've worn this shell necklace with SO many things.  It's the perfect amount of dress up and dress down blended together.  The silk blend of the dress gives it the tiniest bit of sheen that you can't really see in these photos.  So it has this weird... casual dress wearing makeup thing... going on.  My casual chunky necklaces didn't go, and my dressy necklaces didn't go....shimmery shells to the rescue.

If I was going out somewhere besides my grandma's house today, I'd wear silver flats.  I would have worn them for the photos too, but I had just painted my toenails.  Flip flops that don't really go with my outfit, here we come.

P.S. Jax says chewing on fists is the best.  Give it a try sometime.
