This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time: style blog.
I didn't know such a thing existed until this girl: Kendi Everyday. Her daily outfit posts are inspirational and fun. I've wanted to blog my work outfits for a long time. Kendi can get away with jeans and short skirts, but my job is business professional. I wanted to daily style blog even more while I was pregnant, because I had great fun styling my ever-changing bump. But I never did.
In my childless life, I loved to make new outfits and accessorize them.
I worked at a nice job where heels, blazers, and cardigans were
regulars, and you could wear your nicest things each day. I prided
myself in gathering stylish clothes from discount places like Old Navy,
Ross, consignment, and the thrift store, and wearing them at a job where
some people shop directly from fashion consultants or designers, and
most others shop at department stores. I got compliments on my clothes
all the time.
Since Jax was about three weeks old, and I graduated from wearing something around the house besides a loose nursing top, no bra, and a soft skirt, I've been making he and I match. Our outfits match or coordinate every day. Maybe once or twice a month I can't get it together, but pretty much every day for the last two months, he and I are in coordinating outfits.
Now that my clothes have to be prepared for a newborn poop explosion, spit up shower, or milk leaking all over, I have to dress more simply (no dry clean only!).. And now that the baby can grab things, accessories are out of the question most days.
So I decided: the baby is my accessory.
As you will see, he is the cutest accessory ever.
Here's our outfits today. I want to try posting them frequently, even if it's something simple, and a crappy iPhone mirror image! 99% of Jax's clothes were given to us.
So I took the above pic and thought, it can't be THAT hard to do this with my good camera. So I threw a necklace on me and shoes on Jax and tried again. Disclaimer: this is what we actually wore today, but I will remove my necklace and his shoes after taking pics. I still posted the iPhone pic because Jax could see me in the mirror, so he smiled. And oh, THAT SMILE! Melt me.
HERS | Dress: thrifted | Tank: Old Navy | Shorts: Old Navy | Shoes: Crocs Crocband Loafer (note: this style Crocs runs a tad large and roomy in length and width. It's the only closed toe, closed heel Crocs that I can fit. I wear a 9, and most of their 9's are too small when they are completely closed shoes. Also, these were the ONLY shoes I could wear the last week of my pregnancy when my feet were sooo swollen.)
