Work Days

34

So after I quit my job, my boss asked if I would do some contract work for them periodically.  As it turns out, because the brokerage and banking industry is so highly regulated by the government, I needed to work a minimum of four hours once a week, to continue on as an hourly employee.  One huge benefit of this, is I worked extremely hard to earn my securities license (it's an eight-hour exam that 50% of people who attempt it will fail).  In order to keep your license active, you must be employed by a brokerage firm on December 31st of each year.  The firm pays a fee for you to retain your license.  At any point that you are unemployed on December 31st, you lose your license, and would have to re-take the exam to earn it back again.  There is no "holding" it, or paying the fee yourself to keep it active.  In addition to that primary license, I have two other licenses, which are about two-hour exams.  I studied hours and hours and hours for months and months to earn those licenses, and was honestly bummed about losing them when I quit my job.  Just in case I need them.  So I was thrilled to be able to keep my licenses active, as well as earn a bit of income.  I had planned to find a few part-time things to bring in a bit of money each month, so this arrangement was ideal.

I've worked three days so far, and the only problem has been that Jax doesn't want to eat without me.  He has refused a sippy cup, a straw, a bottle, a medicine dropper, a spoon, and a washcloth soaked in breast milk.  I'm working with him every day this week to try to get him to take SOMETHING.  The straw or medicine dropper seem to be our best bet so far.  He absolutely will not take a bottle.

So once a week, I haven't been taking outfit photos.  Because I've been getting dressed for work, getting my stuff together, Jax's stuff together, rushing to drop him off, rushing to work, rushing home again, then enjoying the rest of the day with him, without any interruptions.  Don't worry, I wear clothes to work.  In fact, I wear blazers and heels and fancy jewelry.  But I just don't have time on a work day to take outfit photos.

So this week, I've scheduled this post to appear on my work day.  This is what we wore to church last Sunday, only I never got around to posting the images.

In the second photo, we see that adorable pouty lip again.

And I'm wearing earrings, because on Sundays at church, Benjamin takes care of the baby.  He wears him in the carrier for him to take naps, plays with him when he's awake, and brings him to me when he needs to nurse.  Because I'm back to leading worship at church, so I'm busy with the band.  Can I tell you how much Jax loves his Daddy? And how much his Daddy loves him?  It's adorable to see them together.
