New

34

This is what we wore to church on Sunday.

We also wore it to a party of friends with new babies.  They are couples who took Bradley method birth classes with us, so our babies were all born between March 10th (Jax) and April 28th.  Here we are with our babies.  Two couples were unable to attend, but everyone else is here.  Our beautiful new babies are named: (bottom left to right) Heather, Sol (top left to right) Enrique, Amelia, and Jax.

I had some gift certificates for Old Navy that were about to expire, so Benjamin went shopping with me, so he could hold Jax while I was in the fitting room.  Clothes shopping used to take a lot of time and money for me.  My confession is that clothes is my spending weakness.  So it's for the best that clothes shopping is the one errand that is nearly impossible for me to do alone with the baby.  When I shop anywhere, I wear him in a carrier on my body.  He's not a fan of the stroller, and it's easier to wear him anyway.  Then my hands are free to push the cart, select groceries, etc. But trying on clothes while wearing your baby is on the impossible list.  Shoes, maybe, but not clothes.  This, combined with our new reduced budget, has been a great way to keep me out of clothes stores.  If you don't go in them, you don't buy from them.  And I don't like buying clothes online, because you can't try them on. Anyway, we went clothes shopping this weekend.  One more bonus was that Benjamin doesn't have much patience for clothes shopping, and Jax was getting fussy. So I had to shop quickly, try on quickly, and make quick decisions.  The last item being the most challenging for me.  So we accomplished it, and between coupons and gift certificates, I left Old Navy with two shirts, two shorts, and a skirt for twenty dollars.  Of what I'm wearing, the shirt is new.  So if you like it, you can own it for $8 plus shipping from OldNavy.com, or $6 in-stores (it was on sale yesterday, Texas in-stores).  It comes in a bunch of other fun polka dot prints, and several solids.

I also met up with a mom on a parenting group on Facebook to buy some clothes for Jax.  I got a bag of clothes for him, also for twenty dollars, that included two pairs of shoes and a whole bunch of other items.  His shirt (onesie) is new, and his shoes are new.

This skirt is thrifted, and it 's one of my favorite wardrobe items. I love the color, I love the tiny eyelet, the slender belt, and the retro feel.  I've worn it many, many ways.

Sooo.....new babies. New clothes. Babies are definitely the winner.
