My poor baby is suddenly teething with a vengeance. He spent about two weeks sleeping sooo well at night - six to eight hours at the first "batch" of the night, and two to four hour "chunks" after that. Suddenly in the last four days, his sleep has become so interrupted and unpredictable. Two hours here, one hour there, three hours here, fifteen minutes there. For two nights in a row, he was awake an hour or more, nursing, then crying, nursing, then crying. Each night after an hour and a half, I gave him some homeopathic teething relief drops that gave him instant relief, and he slept deeply afterward. Last night, I proactively gave him the drops before putting him down for the night, and again about three a.m. after he had woken up only thirty minutes after feeding. He slept five hours in a row, and slept about twelve hours total with much fewer wakings than the prior nights. Even during the day yesterday, he was hardly himself. I couldn't put him down to play for longer than five minutes without fussing, and ended up with him in my arms most of the day. I hope we see these teeth soon!
In other news, he is now rolling from tummy to back AND back to tummy, and scooting all around on his back. So now when you set him down on his playmat, who knows in what position he will be five minutes later. He has figured out how to roll or slide on his back to reach whichever toys he wants. He even has started these cute little squeals of frustration when he can't get the item of choice into his mouth. For example, my camera. We carry it outside every morning to take outfit photos, and he reaches for it and squeals. Sorry my adorable son, Mommy's camera is off limits to baby fingers!
