Bath Time at Five Months

34

Hey, mom, what's goin' on?

This shower thing is fun!  I can bang these rings on the tray and it makes a LOUD NOISE!

Hey. Have you noticed the water's off?  It's getting a bit chilly in here.

PLEASE!  Enough with the camera!  I'm cold!  I'm tired!  Get me out of here!

Baby. Must. Have. Expensive. Electronics.

Since about four months old, Jax has been bathed at night by Benjamin while I take a shower myself.  On this night, and a few others since then, I've been on my own.  What to do with a stinky, sweaty, milk-stained Mommy and Baby?

I was about to sell our Bumbo seat (just before the recall, darn).  Jax hasn't ever fit in it since he's had enough head control to safely use it.  His chubby thighs and lumpy cloth diapered butt are a no-go with the size of the Bumbo.  I drove half-way to Austin to buy this one (and a bunch of other stuff from craigslist) because I wanted THIS color.  Only for it to never get used.  The night I was stumped because it was already Jax's bed time and we both needed a shower, I thought of it.  I set him in it naked, and he fit!  So he played there, on the tile floor in the shower, while the water ran and I got cleaned up.  When I was through, I picked him up, soaped him down, and rinsed him off in the shower with me.

Then I realized how darn cute he looked in there, and how much fun he was having banging the toys while the water splattered down on him.  I ran to get my camera, and here we are.  What I didn't count on was that he was nearing the end of his tolerance, and bedtime was upon us.  His smiles didn't last long before my lens until they were replaced by his adorable wrinkly nose fed up face.  But I'm glad to have these.  The whole time we were in Kentucky, this is how we showered each night.
