Last night it was eighty degrees when we went to bed.  While we slept, the temperature dropped to the low forties.  Finally I can wear something other than shorts in December!  I have the windows open and the house has cooled off to sixty eight.  Ahhhh..... enjoying just the perfect amount of cold.

Benjamin dragged down my winter boxes last night, containing sweaters and boots.  Today I'm drowning in the weekly laundry and switching out summer and winter clothes in the closet.

By the time we took our photos, it was warming up and the sun was shining brightly, so we had to find shade behind the house.  The metal beams next to us are scaffolding that my dad has been using for some repairs on the house.

Over the weekend we celebrated my sister Tabitha's birthday in Houston.  The generous, thoughtful person that she is, she took her party attendees shopping to H&M, giving each one of us a gift card to find something fun.  This blouse is one of the things I scored.  The teal color is richer than it shows up in the photo, and I loved it so much I decided to overcome my dislike of collared shirts.  It's long enough to wear with leggings, and it's a great style to mix and match.

I'd heard of H&M, but never shopped there before.  Tabitha discovered them in Paris, and loves their fashion-forward affordable styles.  I was truly amazed at how cheaply most of the clothes were priced, given they seemed decent quality.  Everything was extremely trendy.  There were tons of skinny jeans, jewel tones, corduroy, baggy sweaters, skinny colored belts, and colored pants.  If you want to dress in the current "IN" without breaking the bank, it's a great place.  They do have an online store as well.

One more fashion note... I've been trying to use my maternity leggings lately.  It was going okay, but they just keep sliding down, since they're not snug enough to stay up without a pregnant belly.  I was at Walmart today (one of my least favorite stores, so I wait until I HAVE to get several things only carried there or best purchased there), and stopped in the ladies section.  They had black leggings for five dollars, and I nearly went to the fitting room to change into them right there, since my maternity leggings were sagging between my thighs and driving me nuts.  But I purchased them and waited until I got home to change.  If you're in need of cheap leggings, try Walmart.  They had some in the women's section (Faded Glory) and more in the juniors section (No Boundaries).  I'm wearing the Juniors small, and they fit perfectly, and are soft and comfy.

Jax and I took the Greyhound to and from Houston.  I still think this is the BEST way to travel with an infant.  We used Greyhound in June when he was three months old, and it was just as nice this time around.  He nursed, napped, played with toys, danced, and looked out the window.

I'm sure he can look out the window in his car seat in our car, but it's not quite the same I guess.  As long as it was light out (the first hour of our trip), he sat on my lap and just stared out the window, enthralled.  Once it was dark, he wanted to nurse to sleep, even though it was only six p.m.!

When we arrived, he woke up, and stayed up for the couple hours it took to drive to the house, eat dinner, bring in our luggage, and get ready for bed.  Then he slept five hours straight so I could too!

I bought the tickets in advance so they cost $13 one way.  That's so much cheaper than gas!  Except I left my ticket at home and you can't reprint them if you did the online print, so I had to buy another ticket.  Grr, but my fault.  Even still, I'm a fan.  I'll request will-call tickets next time so I can't forget the ticket at home!

Also, my hair is a mess. It's at the length I can't even figure out what to do with it anymore.  It's getting cut this week, yay!
