Wow! (and more sleep)

34

As a brief follow-up to the recent sleep post, I will say that Jax is sleeping twelve hours at night, now with two to three wakings.  He sleeps from eight p.m. to eight a.m., and I sleep about nine or ten of his twelve hours.  It is delightful.  I love waking up with him in the morning, because he is so cuddly that time of day.  Well, he's cuddly all the time, but in the morning in bed we get lots of cuddles before starting the day.  He nurses almost as much between five a.m. and eight a.m. as he does the rest of the day and evening put together.  He "tanks up" as my mom puts it.  He will wake about every hour, perhaps a bit less, between five and eight, nurse, then back to sleep.  Other times, he will sleep until seven, then nurse the entire hour until eight.

His naps have gotten really wonky in the past few weeks, going from two naps about 60-90 minutes each, to one nap about 60 minutes, to now one nap about 20-40 minutes.  I'm trying to emotionally handle the fact that I no longer get a break during the day, and be grateful for the long hours I get to sleep overnight.

I recently took a blood test my naturopath recommended, and found out my levels of Epstein-Barr (the virus that can escalate into / cause Mono) are pretty high. He's going to give me some supplements to help, but that would explain why I've been horribly fatigued for the last three or four months, despite sleeping nine or ten hours every night.

Well, enough about sleep.....

I love this sea green color, and I love this little plaid shirt on Jax.  And I love my new Crocs ($10 clearance!!!!).

And I love so, so, so much, the delight of spending every day with this loads-of-fun little boy.  His favorite word right now is "Wow!!!!!"  He says it all. day. long.  "Wow!!! Ohhh wowww!!!"  It totally fits his personality that "Wow!" is one of his very first words.  He also says, Momma, Dada, and uh-oh.  But "wow" he says almost constantly.  Love it. Love him.
