When I was pregnant, I used as many non-maternity clothes as I could, from my existing wardrobe.  Then, when I purchased clothing, I tried to purchase non-maternity clothes that would fit my belly anyway.  I wanted to be able to use some of the clothing when I wasn't pregnant anymore.  And I was pretty much disgusted with how plain and ugly most maternity clothes are, and how ridiculously expensive they are if they're actually cute.  Other than shorts and pants, very little of what I wore when I was pregnant was actually labeled, "maternity."

This dress is a good example.  When I was pregnant, I wore it as a dress, and also as a tunic/shirt (I tucked the hem into my pants, and it kind of folded over and looked like a long blouse).  It is a size medium, which is larger than what I would normally wear, but it worked pregnant, and it works now.  Bonus.

They say an outfit looks dressier when it has at least three pieces.  The alternative is one piece - a la - dress.  Even if I'm wearing two pieces, I always have a third handy (baby).

Also, the first belt I'm wearing is woven pieces.  These are the best kind, because you're not limited by the size of the holes.  You can wear it on your waist, hips, or empire waist, and it will always fit.

Just some free fashion tips I've gathered along the way.
