Reality is this baby is rolling all over the place! Our home is all tile floors, so he's a bit intimidated to roll much. But at Tita's house, or a friends' house, where they have carpet, he knows it's safe to roll and roll and roll without bonking his head. He will be three or four feet away in a matter of minutes.
A baby that rolls becomes squirmy and rolly all the time. He tries to roll when I'm dressing him or changing his diaper. He squirms when we're taking outfit photos (see photo two). He squirms when he's nursing (which is sometimes quite painful for my poor nipple when he twists and turns while still latched on). It becomes more important for us to nurse in the same chair, in the same room, so he knows we are there for him to eat. And the surroundings stay the same, so they are less distracting.
The other reality is drool. Despite the amber necklace, we're getting close to having him wearing a little bib all day long. Today he wore a light blue and white striped one, which matched his outfit, of course. I'm trying to decide if I want to include The Bib stage in our outfit photos, because it's reality. But he looks so much cuter without it on. Perhaps I'll just throw one in here or there... when I have ones that match :)
On a positive note of our reality: Jax now takes a bottle (woo hoo!) when I'm at work once a week. And after two weeks of sleep reversion (or growth spurt?) where he went back to waking every three hours, he has spent the last three nights sleeping six hours straight at the beginning of the night. I feel so much more rested! And I think on Monday, I'm going to begin transitioning him to his own crib in his own room. He has been sleeping in a bassinet-size pack n' play in our room until now. Any tips on making the transition?
